 Pitt Community College, a two-year accredited institution of higher education and technical college, is located in Winterville, just south of Greenville.

 Part of the state's community college system, PCC has an enrollment of more than 11,500 students who are taking courses on campus and via the Internet.

 PCC's mission is to serve as a vital partner in the economic and workforce development of the community through coursedes designed to "foster successful career preparation, higher education transfer, community involvement and global engagement." Classes are available in arts and sciences, business, construction and industrial technology, health sciences and legal science and public service.

 PCC has aggressively adopted web-based learning via the Internet to make their programs reachable to a number of people. More than 3,000 classes are available online though the Distance Learning program.

PCC offers Continuing Education training for a new career -- as well as updating current skills -- through programs such as healthcare, real estate, construction trades, insurance, law enforcement, fire and EMS, and barber and cosmetology.

 PCC Continuing Education also boasts a variety of personal enrichment classes that are always changing but may include, art, fitness, safety, language and music.

 The PCC Small Business Center provides free assistance to small business owners and entrepreneurs.

 PCC athletics teams include men's basketball, baseball, softball and women's volleyball.
